Shakeology Cleanse

Shakeology is a health drink shake that contains 70 ingredients and a super-fruit blend full of antioxidants. It can be used for various purposes such as a daily multivitamin, a healthy snack in between meals, or a meal replacement shake. A new way of using it is for a 3-day diet cleanse for helping with weight loss.

I'm not sure where the Shakeology cleanse originated but the steps are really simple to follow. It involves the following:

• 3 shakes per day
• 2 fruits for snacks
• 4 oz of lean protein and a salad for dinner

Each shake should be consumed 3 to 4 hours apart. The fruit can be eaten in between shakes as a snack. It is also suggested to have 2 tbs of healthy oil such as olive oil as part of the dressing on your salad. For example, an olive oil/vinegar dressing.

Unlike other popular diet cleanses you may come across, the Shakeology cleanse only lasts for 3 days. That is very short compared to ones that I've seen last anywhere from a week to 10 days or longer. Another way it differs is in the ingredients of the shake itself. There are 70 healthy ingredients which means you'll get the vitamins, minerals, as well as antioxidants your body needs during the entire cleanse.

Of course it is important to check with your health care provider before making a change in your eating habits, particularly with trying new products or new diet.

Since I am not familiar with where the cleanse originated, I am not sure what average weight loss is possible. I'm sure it will vary from person to person. Since the cleanse only lasts for 3 days, I wouldn't expect a ton of weight to be lost. This is why it's important to consult with your doctor if you are concerned. Maybe a cleanse is not appropriate for you.

If you are not interested in a cleanse at all, Shakeology still makes an excellent daily shake to consume as a multivitamin supplement or healthy snack. I drink it as my daily multivitamin and love it. It helps cut out my cravings for sweets which is my biggest problem when it comes to trying to eat well.
