Shakeology Alternative

Shakeology has become a very popular health drink and many people are beginning to learn more about the product from other users. It's not unusual to seek out alternatives to popular products for one reason or another. Most of the time, price is what leads to seeking out alternative brands. However, the old saying is often true - you get what you pay for.

Although Shakeology is often marketed as a meal replacement shake, it is so much more than that. Personally, I use it as a daily multivitamin. I never liked taking pills and taking several supplements in pill form wasn't going to cut it for me. When I learned about Shakeology, I was hooked because I spent years searching for a multivitamin in liquid form that didn't taste disgusting.

There are 70 ingredients in Shakeology that you would find very difficult to capture in another product. It contains all of the essential vitamins and minerals such as A, B, C, D, E, K, calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc, and more.

While it is not a protein shake, it does contain protein as well as essential amino acids. My favorite ingredients can be found in the proprietary super-fruit blend. The super-fruit blend is antioxidant heaven. It includes ingredients such as:

• camu-camu
• pomegranate
• bilberry
• blueberry
• goji berry
• acai

The shake also contains wheat grass, barley grass, oat grass, and flax seed! I can't list every single ingredient here, however, it would be difficult to find one product that contains all of those ingredients at all.

I've done my own research for a Shakeology equivalent and it was tough to find. I visited a couple of popular vitamin/supplement stores in my area and explained what I was searching for in a shake. The store employees either pointed me to meal replacement shakes with very little in terms of vitamins or to protein shakes that focused mostly on protein and not much else.

Price is what really leads people to search for alternatives in the first place. When people ask me about the price I simply ask them what they are looking for in the product? Shakeology is a healthy meal in a glass. It can be used as a multivitamin, a meal replacement shake, help with weight loss, dessert alternative, or just enjoyed as a daily shake.

When the topic of price comes up, I point out that a 30-day supply averages to about $3 - $4 a shake. Most people spend that much per day on fancy coffee beverages or sugar filled smoothies. Shakeology contains no refined sugars, artificial sweeteners, or caffeine.

I can vouch for the chocolate flavor. It is delicious blended with either water or milk.
