Ouidad Curly Hair Product Review

I have very curly hair and I used to hate it. I would constantly try to chemically straighten my hair or flat iron it straight. I had little success and eventually ended up damaging my hair and to the point of leaving it so dry that the ends would constantly break off. Needless to say, I had no clue how to manage curly hair. This left me to wear it tied up in a ponytail or in a bun. I felt the only way to tame my hair was to keep it tied up. I was discouraged and actually had low self-esteem because of it.

I first learned of Ouidad when my sister got her own curly hair done at the main Ouidad Salon in New York. Ever since, I wanted to try the products but kept putting it off. As a surprise, my sister took me to the Ouidad Salon in Santa Monica as a Christmas present. I was so shocked that I was brought to tears as I have wanted to learn how to style my curly hair for so long.

The salon in Santa Monica is so cute and so simple. You will not see flat irons or curling irons here. My hair stylist was very nice and asked me what I had in mind as far as hair style. I explained that I had not had my hair cut in years and really had no clue on how to manage my curls. She taught me how to shampoo, condition, and apply the styling products.

My hair went from a dry mess to super moisturized curly perfection! I was extremely happy with the results and I've been able to take care of my curls on my own. In fact, doing my hair is 100 times easier now than when I simply combed and brushed it into submission.

One question you may have is, "would the products work for my hair type?" It really doesn't matter your ethnicity and what type of hair you have. Curls are all the same when it comes to using the products. Many people with curly hair really do not know how to take care of their hair. Often, they have very dry hair and feel that their curls are unmanageable. If you live close to the main Ouidad salons (New York or Santa Monica), I suggest starting there.

However, check your city for certified Ouidad hair stylists. They may work out of another salon but are qualified to cut and style using Ouidad's methods. You will learn how to properly wash and condition your curls as well as how to apply the styling gels using the "rake and shake" method.

Styling my hair now is so much easier. I no longer use a comb or a brush. Most detangling is done using Ouidad's conditioner and my fingers. I also use the double detangler comb which was especially designed for curly hair. Rather than damaging your hair with pulling and tugging like a regular comb, the double detangler literally does the work for you. No more tension and breaking off your hair. This comb is awesome!
