Shakeology® is an excellent meal replacement shake created by Beachbody®. It contains 70 healthy ingredients in one glass. It doesn't contain any artificial sweeteners, sugar, or caffeine. It holds many benefits such as:

I would highly recommend you speak with your doctor before replacing any meals to be sure if it safe.

However, if you are simply doing research, it is important to know the difference between the various types of shakes that are on the market today.

Many people choose to use a meal replacement shake for weight loss purposes. They are convenient and make it easier to create a calorie deficit. As long as you continue to eat healthy meals along with your shake, you should be able to lose weight along with regular exercise.

What to Look for in a Good Shake

Flavor is a main concern because if it doesn't taste good, chances are you will not continue to drink it. Other key factors should be how many vitamins and minerals the shake contains as well as the calories per serving. Protein is a plus as well as other healthy ingredients such as antioxidants.

Most shakes on the market will lack some ingredients while being abundant in others. Really, it comes down to a matter of preference in what you are looking for. Your doctor or nutritionist should be able to give you advice on key ingredients that you should look out for.

Saving Money By Making Your Own Shakes

You don't necessarily have to purchase pre-packaged shakes. If you decide on what you want in your shakes, you can just as easily create your own versions using natural (even organic) ingredients. If you can buy your ingredients in bulk or find sales, you are sure to save money compared to purchasing what is available on the market.

The cool thing about doing it yourself is that you also create variety. Your shakes can be different each time you make them by incorporating different frutis or ingredients such as protein powders, wheatgrass powders, etc.

The only downside to making them yourself is the convenience. Often with our busy lifestyles, gathering all of the ingredients that you need and preparing them each day can be time consuming. This is why the pre-packaged versions often come in handy. The tough part is finding products that contain everythign that you are looking forward and still taste good.

How to Find a Good Meal Replacement Shake

In my opinion, the best way to find a good shake is by asking around. Otherwise, you will be wasting time trying to find ones that taste good and contain good ingredients. You can find most pre-packaged shakes in health food stores or nutritional supplement stores.

Be aware that if you plan on using these shakes for a 30-day period, many of the products on sale do not come in 30-day supplies. If you find this is the case, you can always stretch them out by using half the servings and adding to them by adding fruit into the mix.
